Module aim (aims)
The students gain the ability to analyse and synthesize primary knowledge in the field of literary studies in the gender perspective. The students also gain knowledge about Croatian literature and, in a broader sense, South Slavic literature. The aim of the course is to familiarize participants with basic concepts of feminist criticism and masculinity studies. Selected items from the contemporary Croatian literature and publications on gender studies will be used as research material.
Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)
- critical abilities;
- willingness to discuss gender-centric social issues;
- interest in the contemporary literarure
Syllabus
- presentation of the Croatian literary enviroment and contemporary literary phenomena;
- providing basic knowledge about South Slavic literature;
- presentation of basci concepts of feminist criticism and masculinity studies;
- discussion about male and feminine ways of literary narrative in contemporary Croatian literature
