Module aim (aims)
- presenting the characteristics of intercultural business communication
- developing all linguistic skills in relation to business English with particular attention to the intercultural context
- developing the ability to differentiate registers in business communication with particular attention to the intercultural context
- developing the ability to participate actively and passively in business communication, both verbally and in writing within a multicultural business environment
- developing the ability to thoroughly search for, analyse and assess information on the functioning of a company with particular attention to the intercultural context

Syllabus
Week 1:Revision of knowledge about intercultural communication
Week 2:Characteristics of business communications in multicultural companies with special emphasis on cultural differences.
Week 3:Introduction to specialist communication in business, types, channels and restrictions on communications in an organisation. Fundamental economic concept shaping the working reality in an organisation.
Week 4: Corporate jargon. Specific abbreviations and terms operating in large organisations.
Week 5: Differences in terms in communications in the economic space in companies operating in different parts of the world.
Week 6: Management styles, working models and potential problems in an intercultural context.
Week 7: Differences between communications in everyday situations and in business situations at the syntactic and textual level with particular emphasis on intercultural contexts.
Week 8: Decision-making in a business.
Week 9: Business negotiations, strategies, negotiating vocabulary.
Week 10: Introduction to project work
Week 11: Analysis of typical models of written and/or spoken texts typical of intercultural communications, such as the verbal presentation of a product, how to hold a discussion, criticism, reports, protocols and e-mails in business communications.
Week 12: Features of written communications in business.
