Module aim (aims)
- Ordering and broadening the knowledge of students on selected topics from the area of language and socio-cultural history of the German speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg)
- Sensitizing the students to the differences, including those linguistic ones, between the German speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg)
- Developing the skill of appropriate and critical use of German-language media and other information sources
- Developing the skill of project work in small teams
Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)
Knowledge of German at minimum B1 level according to CEFR
Week 1: Introduction
Week 2 - Week 6: Socio-cultural development of the German speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg): selected topics
Week 7: - Week 8: Linguistic variety of the German speaking countries and German dialects
Week 9 - Week 14: Selected socio-cultural trends in the German speaking countries and their media representations
Week 15: Summary and test
