Module aim (aims)

Cognitive and teaching aim: students gain knowledge about European and Polish Agricultural Law. Analysis of legislation; shaping the rules of proper and logical interpretation of the law and its skilful, practical use.

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

Syllabus

Week 1:Genesis, evolution and objectives of the Common Agricultural Policy, Week 2: EU agricultural law, the sources of EU agricultural law, instruments of the common agricultural policy

Week 3: The system of direct payments

Week 4: Agricultural markets

Week 5: Rural Development Programme as the key instrument of rural development policy

Week 6: The Common Agricultural Policy and the Environment

Week 7: Public aids in agriculture

Week 8: The origin and development of European food law. General principles of food law - Reg. 178/2002. Agricultural Law and the food law.

Week 9: The concept of agricultural law. Basic definitions under the provisions of Polish law.

Week 10: Trade in agricultural property in Poland. Agricultural Property Agency Week 11: Agreement on agriculture: the agriculture lease agreement, the cultivation contract

Week 12: Co-operatives in agriculture and other forms of association of agricultural producers

Week 13: Systems of direct payments - Polish regulations

Week 14: The development of rural areas in Poland. Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture

Week 15: Agricultural markets in Poland. Agricultural Market Agency
