Module aim (aims)
1. Module aim (aims)It is assumed that the student:
- Will know different aspects of media in education
- Can characterize traditional and new media
- Can describe their use
- Understands the nature of media as a visual message and can analyse any webpage in terms of its educational value
- Can describe the possibilities and limitations of computer and electronic media as tools for learning, teaching and upbringing
Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)
English on intermediate level (B2 level) or higher.Elementary pedagogical knowledge.

Week 1: Basic concepts and definitions of media and media education
Week 2: History of the written word and radio
Week 3: History of TV and computers
Week 4: Pros and cons of media
Week 5: Media in education
Week 6: Tools of media education
Week 7: Analysis of a webpage or mobile app or educational computer game in terms of its educational value
