Module aim (aims)

Syllabus

  1. Introduction. Discussion about gifted and talented children and the group’s integrity.
  2. Basic information about the concept of a gifted and talented child (in the literature, the concept of ability and talent, the concept of the gifted child of learning difficulties).
  3. Basic knowledge about the creative concept of education. Information about the creative task for students.
  4. The teacher’s competences of supporting gifted and talented children.
  5. The pupil as a gifted or talented child. Characteristics and methods of diagnosis.
  6. Identifying gifted children and analysis of available diagnostic tools for gifted children.
  7. The selected pedagogical and psychological concepts and methods of creativity and giftedness. Student presentations.
  8. Overview of creative methods, forms and ways of working with gifted and talented children (in the context of supporting child’s development).
  9. The creative methods and techniques of work with gifted and talented children - individual and groups work.
  10. Planning creative activities for gifted and talented children in education. Work in groups.
  11. Conducting creative activities for gifted children. Work in groups.
  12. Conducting creative activities for gifted children. Work in groups. Discussion and evaluation.
  13. European Union countries' perspective of gifted and talented pupils. Presentations.
  14. Gifted and talented children in international and multicultural environments.
  15. The deadline for submitting creative tasks, evaluation, summary and reflection.
