The classes will be held every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Międzychodzka street 5 (ul. Międzychodzka 5 · 60-371 Poznań) room 302

W start classes from the 12th of October.

Module aim (aims)

• demonstrate a basic knowledge of the principles of international and comparative education

• describe the central concepts of international and comparative research

• apply these principles and concepts to comparative analysis of educational practices and policies

• formulate a general understanding of the Polish educational system and other, its characteristics and objectives

• reflect on practical experiences, such as observation in Polish schools and/or preschools, and compare the functioning of these institutions to similar entities in other countries

• describe current issues and trends in international and comparative education

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

English on intermediate level, allowing for the free speaking and reading the articles in English

Week 10: Religion and education

Week 11: International schools

Week 12: Insider- outsider research in comparative and international education

Week 13: International research in the field of education: PISA, TALIS, TIMMS ect.

Week 14: Education and international development- social justice in the field of education

Week 15: Assessment, presentation of research paper
