Module aim (aims)
The aim of this module is to help students(with/without any prior knowledge) gain some knowledge about the history of Ireland and its culture.
Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)
A good knowledge of the English language is required, but no knowledge of the history or culture of Ireland is.
Syllabus
Students will have to read 'The Pocket History of Ireland' which will be supplemented by the tv series 'The Story of Ireland' and discuss what they find out with other students of differing nationalities in the class.
In terms of culture: there will be lessons on Irish sport and Irish music and dance.
