1.Origins of cultural heritage protection in international cooperation. Definition of the object of protection (definition of work of art, cultural property, monument, object of special cultural interest, musealum, underwater cultural heritage).
2. Sources of protection for cultural property in the event of armed conflict.
3. Sources for the protection of cultural property in the framework of cooperation between UNESCO, UNIDROIT, Council of Europe.
4. Protection of Cultural Property in the European Union.
5. Contemporary threats to cultural heritage and natural heritage.
6.Sanctions and criminalisation of acts against cultural heritage as recommended by international law documents.
7. Criminal law protection of cultural objects in the European Union.
8. Defining the position and tasks of the expert in the functioning of the legal art market.
9. The role of the International Criminal Court in the protection of the world's cultural heritage.
10. Problems of restitution of cultural property
Module aim (aims)
Students will gain knowledge about the legal protection of cultural heritage in the context of international cooperation.
