Module aim (aims)

This module is an introductory course in Polish for Spanish-speaking students with no prior knowledge of the language. It is taught in Spanish and focuses on the development of basic communicative competence in Polish (A1 level, CEFR). Classes take place once a week and combine language instruction with an introduction to Polish communicative culture.

The module aims to:

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

No prior knowledge of Polish is required.
The module is designed for Spanish-speaking students.

  1. The Polish alphabet and pronunciation
  2. Basic greetings and self-presentation
  3. Polish sounds and spelling rules
  4. Personal pronouns and basic sentence structure
  5. Present tense of common verbs
  6. Gender of nouns and singular forms
  7. Numbers, time, days and months
  8. Family, food and everyday activities
  9. Ordering food and shopping
  10. Asking for directions and simple interactions
  11. Formal and informal communication in Polish
  12. Politeness strategies and forms of address
  13. Basic cultural norms in everyday communication
  14. Listening and reading simple texts
  15. Writing short messages and participating in basic dialogues
