Module aim (aims)

To develop students’ understanding of social work and social services in Poland in comparative international perspective.

To analyse key features of the Polish welfare and social assistance system in relation to global trends and challenges.

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

Basic knowledge in social sciences: knowledge of social assistance and support systems in the country of origin.

Artificial Intelligence – the status of the technology and attitudes toward AI in Polish social work

Artificial Intelligence – practical ways of using AI in social work

Social Innovations – concepts and good practices

Deinstitutionalization – social services in the community (place of residence)

Climate Change – green social work: global challenges and the Polish context

Social Rights Advocacy – the social worker as an advocate

Migration and Social Work – supporting people with migration experience: integration, barriers, and intercultural sensitivity

Social readaptation - challenges in the context of social inequalities
