Module aim (aims)

Develop the four basic language skills: speaking, reading, writing, and listening.

Master a range of vocabulary, phrases, and structures of French at the beginner level.

Understand simple written and spoken texts on general topics.

Gain intercultural knowledge necessary for communicating effectively with users of the target language at a beginner level.

Increase awareness of the fundamental cultural values of French-speaking countries.

Foster the habit of continuously improving language skills.

Use teaching aids and information technology effectively to support language learning.
Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)
This course is designed for students who have completed approximately 30 hours of French study (false beginners) and who are interested in refreshing their skills while further exploring the French language and culture.
It can also serve as a continuation of French for Beginners I.

Introducing people and describing things and places

Talking about hobbies and personal interests
(Parler de ses loisirs et de ses centres d’intérêt)
Week 3:
Talking about daily routines and habits
(Parler de sa routine quotidienne et de ses habitudes)
Week 4:
Talking about free time and weekend activities
(Parler du temps libre et des activités du week-end)
Week 5:
Presenting people and exploring their backgrounds
(Présenter des personnes et explorer leurs origines)
Week 6:
Making and receiving phone calls
(Passer et recevoir des appels téléphoniques)
Week 7:
Discovering travel destinations
(Découvrir des destinations de voyage)
Week 8:
Writing about yourself: personal diary and short texts
(Écrire sur soi : journal intime et textes courts)

Discovering French culture and traditions – quiz
