Module aim (aims)

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the axiological foundations of education and to develop an understanding of the role of values, norms and beliefs in teaching and learning processes. The course seeks to foster critical reflection on education as a socially and culturally embedded practice, as well as on the ethical dimensions of the teacher’s role. It also aims to encourage analysis of contemporary educational challenges in the context of value conflicts, cultural diversity and changing social and technological conditions.

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

English on intermediate level, allowing for the free speaking and reading the articles in English
