Module aim (aims)

The aim of the course is to develop students’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills on the concept of low carbon society

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

Syllabus

Week 1: The concept of low carbon society (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 2: Economy based on low carbon energy (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 3: Circular economy. Cradle to cradle economy (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 4: Green and brown energy (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 5: Green and smart cities (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 6: Eco mobility (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 7: Intelligent and smart buildings (2 h lecture + 2 h practical classes)

Lectures constitute an integral component of the practical classes; consequently, active engagement in both elements of the module is required.
