Module aim (aims)

The aim of the course is to develop students’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills on human adaptation to ongoing environmental changes.

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

Knowledge of the functioning of the natural environment is required.

Syllabus

Week 1: Place attachment and solastalgia (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 2: Socio-environmental conflicts (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 3: Garment industry and environment (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 4: Resilience to environmental changes (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 5: Local capacity building (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 6: Adaptation to environmental changes in cities (1.5 h lecture + 1.5 h practical classes)

Week 7: Environmentally-friendly farming and gardening (2 h lecture + 2 h practical classes)

Lectures constitute an integral component of the practical classes; consequently, active engagement in both elements of the module is required.
