Module aim (aims)
The aim of the course is to prepare students to lead tourist services, particularly to organize excursions in Poland. Students will learn about accommodation, food, and transport services. They will also study the principles of programming, preparation, sales, and management of tourist events. As part of the project, students will prepare a comprehensive tour package to Poland.
Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)
Very basic knowledge about Poland and tourist geography of Poland.
Syllabus
Week 1 (3 h):
- Tourist migration within and to Poland.
- Basic terminology of tourist services.
Week 2 (6 h):
- The most important tourist attractions in Poland and the tourist information system.
- Practical session: exploring tourist attractions in Poland.
Week 3 (6 h):
- Accommodation and food services in Poland.
- Practical session: examining tourist accommodation options.
Week 4 (6 h):
- Transportation services in Poland.
- Practical session: programming tourist transportation in Poland.
Week 5 (6 h):
- Leading tours in accordance with Polish law.
- Practical session: programming tourist transportation (Part 2).
Week 6 (6 h):
- Principles of programming tourist events.
- Practical session: calculating tourist event costs.
Week 7 (6 h):
- Preparation and management of tourist events.
- Practical session: reservation systems in tourism.
Week 8 (6 h):
- Working with tourist maps (coach and walking trips in the mountains).
- Project: preparation and presentation of a tour package to Poland.
