Module aim (aims)
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the tourist attractiveness of Poland’s natural and cultural heritage. Students will conduct a survey to identify what aspects of Poland are most interesting to foreigners. Based on the survey results, students will design trip programs to Poland tailored for groups with diverse interests and nationalities.
Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)
Basic knowledge about Poland.
Syllabus
Week 1 (3 h):
- Basic tourism terminology, especially classification of tourist attractions.
- Tourist regionalization of Poland.
Week 2 (6 h):
- Natural heritage of Poland.
- Preparation of the survey on foreigners’ perception of Poland’s tourist attractiveness.
- Natural heritage of Poland (by physical regions).
Week 3 (6 h):
- Protected areas of nature as tourist attractions – practical classes.
- Providing tourists access to protected areas of nature – practical classes.
- Preparation and conducting the survey.
Week 4 (6 h):
- Cultural heritage of Poland.
Week 5 (6 h):
- Cultural heritage of Poland.
- Analyzing survey results.
Week 6 (6 h):
- Cultural heritage of Poland.
- Presentation of survey results – evaluation of Polish heritage as a tourist attraction.
Week 7 (6 h):
- Basics of tour programming.
- Preparing programs for trips to Poland.
Week 8 (6 h):
- Presentation and evaluation of the programs.
