Module aim (aims)

1 preparing students to work with source databases (including Perseus Digital Library, JSTOR, CEEOL) and databases of journals and scientific papers: Scopus; Web of Science; Google Scholar
2 advanced use of Word and Excel in the work of a humanist
3 introduction to the main ideas of Mind Mapping and information design
4 advanced use of Power Point and Prezi for the presentation of research and scientific results
5 learning about the tools used to create and position websites; introduction to HTML 5.0
6 getting to know the tools and principles of digitizing and sharing information in the WWW

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

Syllabus

1. The most important humanistic databases.
2. Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar.
3. Advanced formatting of text documents in Word.
4. Advanced formatting of spreadsheets in Excel.
5. Basic assumptions of information design - organizational systems, information labeling systems, search systems.
6. Introduction to Mind Mapping.
7. Advanced creation of multimedia presentations in the Power Point program.
8. Advanced creation of multimedia presentations in the Prezi program.
9. Work with one of the programs for creating websites.
10. Introduction to HTML 5.0.
11. Introduction to Google AdWords.
12. Digitization and sharing of information on the web.
