Module aim (aims)
1 Students practise expressing their personal opinions on both general and academic topics
2 Students gain understanding on appropriate registers both in speaking and writing
3 Students engage in group and individual projects
4 Students prepare and present group or individual presentations of their research
5 Students expand their vocabulary at C1 to C2 level
6 Students observe how English advanced grammar works and realise how to apply it properly

Syllabus
1. The history of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Issues and debates in education in Poland and other countries.
2. The history of art. Different forms of art. Meaning, controversies, modern art.
3. Man in relation to nature. Natural environment. The importance of trees in people's lives.
4. The history of English. English as a global language. How languages develop. Creation of new words in English and Polish - a comparison.
5. Women's rights. The history of feminism. Comparison of the situation of women in different countries of the world.
6. Fake news and conspiracy theories and how to spot them. The importance of objectivity.
7. Modern technology. Threats and challenges of the future.
8. Psychology. Famous experiments. Personality disorders. Mindfulness.
