Module aim (aims)
1 to familiarize students with the specificity of history of theEuropean continent,, the development of Europeancivilization and its spread in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries
2 characteristics of the distinctiveness of European development in comparison with other continents (Africa, Asia, America).
3 transfer of knowledge about the development of European civilization and its spread in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries

Syllabus
1. Ancient visions of the world and ancient empires.
2. Two ways of development of Europe (Rome, Byzantium).
3. The importance of religion, language and writing for centuries of dualism in the development of Europe.
4. Transformations of political and legal systems in Western and Eastern Europe.
5. The wars of Europeans and the shifting of the borders of "Europe".
6. Socio-economic changes (from feudalism to capitalism).
7. Expansion of "Europe" in the 19th and 20th centuries.
8. Models of European integration.
