Module aim (aims)
1 presentation of selected issues in the history of art of the 20th and 21st centuries
2 familiarizing students with the program and exhibitions of cultural institutions in Poznan and with the art of the city's public space
3 familiarizing students with various models of analyzing modern and contemporary artworks
4 familiarizing students with various art media introduced in the 20th and 21st centuries
5 forming a critical attitude towards contemporary visual culture
Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)
Syllabus
1. Ready-made as a conceptual artwork - a self-critique of art and art institutions.
2. Universal language in twentieth century art - from the attack on mimesis to abstraction.
3. Contemporary art in the face of environmental crisis. An environmental history of art.
4. Pop art and critical analysis of visual culture.
5. Space in 20th and 21st century art.
6. The activities of art institutions in Poznan - National Museum, Zamek Culture Centre. Analysis of the artwork at the exhibition.
7. Analysis of a work of art - new media.
