Module aim (aims)
- Assimilation of basic grammar structures and vocabulary of Hungarian language used for everyday communication at level A1
- Acquisition of basic knowledge of the Hungarian language (typology, vocabulary building)
- Acquiring essential cultural information about Hungary

Syllabus
Week 1: Introduction to Hungarian phonological system and writing system, the Hungarian alphabet, greetings
Week 2: Introducing people, giving personal information - Countries and nationalities (the form and usage of verb van [be])
Week 3: Using numbers, prices – the definite and indefinite article in Hungarian
Week 4: Describing simple actions, conditions, daily routine (Basic verb conjugation)
Week 5: Food and drinks - Shopping (The form and usage of accusative – part 1)
Week 6: Food and drinks – In the restaurant (The form and usage of accusative – part 2)
Week 7: Places in a town/city (The form and usage of locative case endings -ban/ben, -n)
Week 8: Indicating directions – part 1 (The form and usage of locative case endings -ba/be, -ra/re, -hoz/hez/höz.)
Week 9: Indicating directions – part 2 (The form and usage of locative case endings -ból/ből, -ról/ről, -tól/től.)
Week 10: Telling the time, making appointments (Time phrases, conjugation of verbs with ending -ik)
Week 11: Likes, dislikes and hobbies. (The form and usage of modal verbs with infinitive in Hungarian -1)
Week 12: Ability, possibility (The form and usage of modal verbs with infinitive in Hungarian - 2)
Week 13: My family, friends, personal belongings (The form and usage of possessive endings in singular)
