Module aim (aims)
This course provides a broad introduction to the field of psychology.
Students are introduced to the main issues of developmental psychology, social psychology, clinical, cognitive and behavioral psychology. The course provides an overview of academic psychology, major theoretical perspectives, important and controversial psychological experiments.
Students have the opportunity to discuss and think critically about various psychological issues.
Students will participate in workshops to experience some of the skills and processes discussed in lectures.

Syllabus
Discussion, group work, final practical presentation and attendance.
Students who miss more than three meetings will not be graded.
Last class - test of knowledge
Week 1: Introduction to psychology, historical perspective.
Week 2: Development across the life span. Life tasks, child and adolescent developmental crisis.
Week 3: Adult development across the lifespan.
Week 4: Cognitive psychology - perception, attention, memory, language. The impact of emotions and motivation.
Week 5: Health psychology - an introduction.
Week 6: Mental health problems: burnout, PTSD and others.
Week 7: Summary of lecture, test of knowledge.
