Module aim (aims)
The course is intended for students who want to start learning Czech language and who are interested in discovering Czech culture. The students will assimilate basics of Czech language grammar, the most important polite phrases and everyday expressions. During the course the participants will practice and develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in Czech language. They will be able to use simple sentences to introduce themselves, to talk about their family, studies or order food in an restaurant.

Syllabus
Week 1: Let´s get to know each other! 1 – greetings, basic phrases, Czech alphabet, verb BÝT
Week 2: Let´s get to know each other! 2- Á-conjugation, numbers 1-10, polite expressions
Week 3: In the city 1 – expressing places, adverbs, Í-conjugation
Week 4: In the city 2 – orientation in the city, verbs VĚDĚT, VIDĚT, numbers 11-100
Week 5: Review for Final Test 1
Week 6: In the restaurant 1 – food and drinks, nominative singular, verbs MÍT RÁD, ČÍST, JÍST, PÍT
Week 7: In the restaurant 2– ordering food, numbers 100-1000
Week 8: My family 1 – family members, possessive pronouns, OVAT-conjugation
Week 9: My family 2 – family relationships, adjectives, subject x object
Week 10: Review for Final Test 2
Week 11: Leisure time 1 – modal verbs, time expressions
Week 12: Leisure time 2 – my hobbies, time expressions 2
Week 13: Famous people – past tense
Week 14: Famous people – famous Czechs, past tense, verbs ZNÁT, VĚDĚT, UMĚT
Week 15: Reviewig for Final Test 3
