Timetable

Module aim (aims)

To provide basic theoretical knowledge about the music teaching method and its applications in music education and therapy.
Transfer of knowledge about the history of music education. Create musical games and activities based on movement, singing and playing with musical instruments.
To equip student's with playing skills of rhythm patterns, expressing music through movement and choreography to music to simple musical works of children's literature. Learn simple musical pieces, get knowledge about polish and foreign folk songs and dances.

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

Musical aptitude, knowledge of basic issues related to contemporary systems of music education and the role of movement in the child's development.

Syllabus

1. Familiarizing students with the history of music education.

2. Play and sing. Songs we all know but don’t remember how to play and dance. Introduction to music activities.       

 3. Integration exercises with music.           

 4. Disney music in music education.

 5. Canon in music and movement.

6. Music ostinato

7. Folk dances. How to dance? How to play?

8. Performing the basic rhythmic exercises based on free and strict implementation of the rhythmic course. (echo rhythmic, polyrhythms) .

9. Acitive listening to classical music for children. Presenting Batti Strauss ideas and pieces of music dedicated to young persons.

10. Music notation – how to play with notes and measures.   

11. Body Percussion in music education

12. Developing the student movement expression through movement improvisation exercises to diverse musical examples.

13. Discussing the basic principles of composing motion in space and create simple compositions of small pieces of music literature for children.   

14. Timing in music. Feeling and performing different measures. Listening to different kind of music, jazz, folk etc.
