Module aim (aims)

Transfer of knowledge in the field of: odorous (flavour and fragrance) components; physicochemical properties of individual groups of compounds, methods for the preparation of perfume compositions; methods for the isolation of fragrances/flavour; the applicable guides for controlling perfumes standards; safety of work in laboratory.· Developing the ability to choose appropriate technology designed to isolate fragrances.· Developing the ability to choose technology designed to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of fragrances.· Preparation for the correct interpretation of research results.· The acquisition of report writing skills and use of literature sources.· Developing communication skills and teamwork.

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

Basic knowledge in the field of general and organic chemistry

Syllabus

Titles of classes – cannot be applied to the educational system used in this course (the course is performed in the block system: 5 weeks lectures (3h per week) and 6 weeks laboratory project (once a week).
