Module aim (aims)
Cognitive and teaching aim: students gain knowledge about running a business activity in Poland. Analysis of legislation; shaping the rules of proper and logical interpretation of the law and its skilful, practical use. The lectures are designed not only to allow the students to familiarize themselves with the law, but also to help them to acquire the skills of drafting simple contracts, registering a business activity and solving legal problems connected with small legal issues of everyday life

No specific pre-requisites concerning social skills and competences.
Syllabus
Week 1,2:Legal environment of running a business activity in Poland. Definition, subject, scope of sources of business law. The concept of a business activity. Concept and types of entrepreneurs
Week3:Running a business activity by natural person. Central Register and Information on Economic Activity. Concessions and licenses regulating economic activity
Week 4:Proxies. Civil-law partnership. National Court Register, a register partnership
Week 5:Professional partnership, limited partnership; limited joint-stock partnership
Week 6:Limited liability company
Week 7:Joint-stock Company
Week 8:Cooperatives
Week 9: Basic regulations relating to additional requirements concerning running a business activity in the food sector, agricultural sector, transport sector and others
Week 10,11: Law concerning real estate and building necessary to running a business activity (ownership, perpetual usufruct, easements), purchasing real estate by foreigners
Week 12: General information about contracts
Week 13: Contract of sale (guarantee, claim, consumer sales)
Week 14: Agreement relating to the economic use of other owner’s items (rent, lease agreement, agreement of use, leasing agreement)
Week 15: Contract of specific work, contract of mandate and others
