Module aim (aims)

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

Basic knowledge about European culture and tradition, ability to formulate opinions and judgments on the subject of literature and culture (as well in writing as in oral presentation).

Syllabus


Course learning content:

Explaining and briefly describing the history of the concept of Central Europe, diversity in its definition and its delimiting.
Presentation of the culture or traditions of Central Europe and historical, geopolitical, national, transnational, literary context of its existence.
Presentation of the most important phenomena and trends in Central European culture (literature), representative authors and texts of culture in relation to national communities.
Discussion on the social and political phenomena that determine the shape of literature and culture of selected Central European countries (in the past and currently).
