Module aim (aims)

- Assimilation of basic structures and vocabulary in German language used for communication in daily situations

- Development of four language skills, especially listening and speaking on level A1

- Acquiring culture information about German people and country; comparing it with other cultures

Pre-requisites in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences (where relevant)

The course is for students who have no prior knowledge of German (true beginners) and who are interested in discovering German language and culture.

Syllabus

How to introduce yourself – Begrüßung und Befinden (Verbkonjugation Sg., Aussage, W-Frage)

Personal information. Occupations – Angaben zur Person. Berufe (Verbkonjugation Sg. und Pl., Personalpronomen, Negation ‘nicht’)           

Family – Familie (Ja/Nein Fragen, Possessivartikel mein/dein/Ihr)           

Shopping – Einkaufen (Zahlen, definiter Artikel)           

Objects/products: colours, shapes etc. – Gegenstände/Produkte: Farben, Formen etc. (indefiniter Artikel, Negativartikel)           

Music in lesson. German songs – Musik im Unterricht. Deutsche Lieder              

My flat - Meine Wohnung (Plural der Nomen)                      

Free time and hobbies – Freizeit und Hobbys (Modalverb ‘können’)           

 My day. Time – Mein Tag. Uhrzeiten, Tageszeiten               (trennbare Verben)

Meeting people – Verabredungen (Verbposition im Satz)            

Christmas and other festivities – Weihnachten und andere Feste in DACH              

Weather and climate – Wetter und Klima (Präposition ‘in’)           

Office & technology – Büro & Technik (Akkusativ)
